The Access to reliable electricity remains a major challenge in remote and rural regions where extension of conventional power grids is economically and technically impractical. Microgrid systems based on renewable energy sources offer a sustainable solution for off-grid electrification by enabling localized power generation, storage, and distribution. This study presents a comprehensive investigation of renewable energy integration strategies in standalone microgrid systems, with a focus on performance assessment under variable environmental and load conditions. Solar photovoltaic, wind energy, and battery energy storage systems were integrated using different control and dispatch strategies. System performance was evaluated in terms of reliability, power quality, energy efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Simulation and experimental analyses demonstrate that optimized integration of renewable sources significantly enhances microgrid stability and supply continuity, supporting sustainable and resilient off-grid electrification.
